Vistas and Views

Star Wars is a tremendous property with so many spinoffs. toys, and even theme park rides. You really can't avoid the property. I'm into it. The game takes alot of elements from Uncharted, Tomb Raider (modern), and Shadow of the Colossus. I thought of myself as too good to use a strategy guide for ...

Buggy but good

The combat has lots of really strong idea. Sure it is mostly derivative, but it is solid. The same can be said for the platforming, enemy design, level design, etc. However I would say that none of those things is truly optimized. Combat is good but finicky. Platforming is good but doesn't feel qui...

Space Candy

I'll preface this review by saying that I'm hesitant to call myself a Star Wars fan. Through a combination of being born in the early 90's, having a dad who was really more of a Star Trek guy, and not having the patience for movies as an adult, I've only seen Episodes I - III. I haven't watched The Mandalorian. I don't even get why people are so into Baby Yoda, aside from "Baby Yoda" being a great punchline to 40+ years of Star Wars. My most in-depth knowledge of Star Wars lore comes from a Wei...

Jedi Fallen Order: Cal kind of looks like a monkey.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is a good game published by the devil. You play as Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan and current scrap enthusiast. Cal is working on a planet scrapping war machines from the Clone Wars when everything goes up Shits Creek and his alien friend gets capped. So after being saved by Debra Wilson, Cal has to travel across the galaxy in search for a thing I can't talk about because that's a spoiler. The wiki says that the game's combat was inspired by “Batman: Arkham ...

Star Wars with Soul

I was surprised to find so many Souls like components in this game, it works well making it very interesting deciding when to heal and respawn versus pushing forward. Then this game adds a lot for future Souls like games to consider like checkpointing before areas a person could fall off an edge, and having falls just lose a small portion of life versus all of it. It does a good job of frequently routing areas so an earlier checkpoint is now quickly accessible, should you need to heal up/save pr...

An engaging, satisfying, yet not too challenging "must play" game

After about 22-24 hours of game play, I just wrapped up Fallen Order and I can't recommend the game strongly enough. The combat feels good with only a few moments of immense frustration on standard difficulty. The story was thrilling, and I enjoyed each of the story beats, as well as some surprise cameos. The game definitely has a "souls-like" feel to it, and there are Jedi-style-pyres for saving progress, but the joke "Dark Souls for babies" is apt, and I appreciate it being that approachable....

Not the worst, also not the best

I had such high hopes but low expectations. This game comes in closer to the latter.Cal Kestis is a former Jedi padawan that has been in hiding for several years after the execution of Order 66. He reveals his connection to the Force and subsequently has to run for his life. He meets up with the crew of the Mantis and they team up to try to restore the Jedi Order. It won't be easy since the Imperial group of Inquisitors will be chasing them trying to finish what they started... killing all of t...
