Princess Farmer is a match-3 puzzle game developed by Samobee Games and published by Whitethorn Digital. It was released March 31st, 2022, for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
The story follows the game's protagonist, Princess Farmer, who one day goes from being an ordinary farmer to waking up under the Gaia Tree and meeting Mother Gaia, transforming her into Princess Farmer. As Princess Farmer, she uses her new magic powers to help Mother Gaia pull vegetables from gardens for the citizens and creatures of the world, while also fighting off a mysterious enemy that is transforming people into monsters with strange gummi vegetables.
The match-3 game board is represented as garden with vegetables buried underground. In order to make matches, the player moves over a column of vegetables and is able to pull up the vegetable that is immediately underneath. The vegetable can then be placed in another column in order to make matches. A total of five vegetables can be pulled up and held at a time.
The game's story mode is broken up into nine chapters. Each chapter has an overworld map that is broken up into stages containing a different match-3 board, or an NPC that can be talked to, which often contains dialogue choices for the player to choose from. Match-3 boards are completed by satisfying different conditions on each puzzle, such as making matches of a specific type of vegetable or scoring a certain number of points within a time limit. Some stages also contain a battle mode that involves fighting an enemy in a race to make matches. A form of currency is rewarded based on how well the player did, which can then be used to purchase new cosmetic items.
The game can be played in either single player or co-op mode and contains three different play styles to choose from:
The game's soundtrack is composed by Astra Tanuki and was made available to purchase digitally.
